After partnering with FundSeeder in 2025, RQSI conducted months of due diligence to select top traders for our initial allocations. This included a rigorous quantitative analysis of the FundSeeder universe and qualitative interviews with traders who passed the screening. Ultimately, we partnered with 8 traders. The first FundSeeder user we allocated to is a lifetime student of the markets located in Portugal who has been one of the top traders on FundSeeder since 2017. His strategy has evolved to different markets over time, but the current iteration is focused on US Large Cap stocks. He incorporates technical and fundamental data on individual Equity names to take both long and short positions. Prior to RQSI's allocation, he was managing a $15 million dollar account of third party investors.

Our second trader manages a personal account in his free time. His day job is at a paper mill in North Carolina where he works 3 days a week. Like many FundSeeder users, he has an obsession with markets and has cut his teeth on many approaches over time. The current strategy focuses on spreads on weekly options in the SPY and RQSI is his first outside investor. He has been a top performer on FundSeeder since 2021.

The third trader we partnered with is a two-man team located in the UK. Their systematic strategy buys and sells the most liquid futures markets intraday based on lead-lag geographical relationships, carrying no overnight risk. Both team members have spent most of their careers in finance and are now launching their own fund. Before RQSI came to the table, their strategy managed $4 million of capital for friends and family.

Trader #8
Trader #8 was one of the earliest traders on FundSeeder, signing up in 2014. He currently works as a dentist in Switzerland and implements his systematic Equity futures strategy on his small personal trading account. Another student of the markets, he has read every trading book he could get his hands on. With RQSI's partnership and allocation, he is looking to retire from dentistry to become an asset manager.

A Legacy of Growth

1987

RQSI allocated $10 million to CRABEL CAPITAL MANAGEMENT. At the time, Crabel was a new CTA managing $10 million in other accounts. RQSI was crucial in the systematization of Crabel's strategy, which manages over $5B today.

1993

RQSI seeded the CTA strategy of Yves Balcer and Sanjiv Kumar at FORT LP.Today, they manage over $1B in assets.

1994

RQSI seeded the CTA strategy of Scott Foster and DOMINION CAPITAL MANAGEMENT, who is still active and manages $135M in the same strategy.

1998

RQSI worked closely with Christopher Dean's stat arbitrage strategy VECTOR. Neil stuck with Vector through a challenging start, and the strategy went on to manage over $1.4B. Vector shows our foundational understanding of a strategy's efficacy.

2003

RQSI was the second investor in QIM, a CTA that now manages $1.2B.

2010

RQSI seeded BHR CAPITAL, a distressed debt and equity joint venture with Bay Harbour Management, in 2010 that managed $1.9B at its peak.

2010

RQSI allocated to QMS, a CTA that now manages $1.5B, but only had $30M when RQSI came to the table.

2022

RQSI returned to allocating to outside traders, launching its Eclectic Alts shareclass, which is composed of 7 emerging CTAs.

2024

RQSI acquired FundSeeder; now we are on the search for the next seeded manager that will grow to over $1B AUM.
