How does FST protect my information that it stores?

FundSeeder Technologies, LLC (“FST”), uses commercially reasonable methods to protect personally identifiable information that it holds. Internally, FST limits access to personally identifiable information only to those with a need for access, and employees with access to user personally identifiable information are subject to confidentiality agreements. Additionally, access to our cloud-based servers is limited to only necessary personnel, such as developers. Technologically, among other things, FST uses strong, encrypted password protection for user data.

How does FST connect with my brokerage firm to access my account information?

FST has developed and written a proprietary internal application to connect with a publicly traded, industry leading, data aggregation service provider. Our provider works with a variety of financial institutions (including a number of brokerage firms and banks) globally to provide firms like FST secure third party access to their financial and trading applications. Our connection with our data provider operates independently of the FST website on a secure and private basis. Information is handed off only between our internal application when we initiate a connection with our data provider.

How does FST use my brokerage login details?

FST does not save or maintain your login details for your brokerage account(s) on our servers. This information is transmitted directly to our data aggregation provider so that it may securely access your account information for data and trade tracking. These login details are utilized solely to gather transaction level information from your brokerage firm. Your credentials are securely stored and are not used by FST for anything further beyond this function.

To track my account FST is asking for my brokerage login and password details. How do I know my connection is secure?

FST has contracted with a publicly traded, industry leading, data aggregation service provider to provide certain elements of our account tracking software. Our provider has over 15 years of experience and is a leader globally in the financial services data aggregation industry. It provides software that tracks more than 45 million financial accounts at both banks and brokerage firms for over 600 financial institutions (which include many of the top 10 US banks). FST relies heavily on the security team and protocols put in place by our provider. We do not store or maintain any of your account login/password information on any of our servers.

How does FST’s data aggregation service provider handle security?

As a public company accessing millions of brokerage accounts security is a major concern for our data aggregation provider. It follows industry best practice guidelines for its security network to protect your account data. Specifically it uses zones to separate Production, Staging, Development, Corporate, and specialty networks from each other. It then uses access control devices between each zone to add an additional layer of security. After implementing access controls, it further segments networks within each zone in order to apply granular security. The last step in the security process is to implement and maintain internal and audit controls appropriate to each function. Other key controls features include:

  • Central bastion hosts
  • Multi-factor authentication
  • Resilient and redundant infrastructure
  • Data encryption
  • Centralized Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM)

FST’s data aggregation provider claims it cares about cyber security but how can I be sure my account information is safe?

Our provider is examined and reviewed under the “FFIEC Supervision of Technology Service Providers” guidelines. This means that it receives a multi-agency examination, with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (“OCC”) taking the lead on a regular basis. As a leading provider and perhaps largest in the area of personal finance tracking and management applications, it has been addressing the questions and concerns of outsourced cloud computing for over a decade. More about the FFIEC Supervision of Technology Service Providers review process can be found: here.
